After a good night sleep and adjusting to the time difference we felt rested and started to explore the beach. We walked to Monica Beach, this was a bit better, the beaches were immense and the view was just amazing. While walking you need to be careful not to run into the many cyclists, roller skaters or bikers. In the early hours everyone was already very active. (not like an average morning in Ireland). Excited to see what else Los Angeles had to offer us, we went to explore downtown and catch some glimpse of the well know Hollywood habitants. As we didn't know what kind of bus to take we went over to the information desk to ask for directions. We were told that a bus for tourists which does the tour costs $50 outside busy season so we decided to take the public transport instead (we were up for the adventure!) The bus driver saw that we were lost and helps us out on our route and didn't even charge us for the trip. He exactly said where we had to exit the bus closest to the walk of fame. So said we went to have a look to the walk of fame. Even at the end of April the weather was excellent and shorts and shirt was the type of clothing to wear. At noon time we needed to search some shade as the heat was getting to us. A nice cold beer did the trick to cool down from all the walking.

Finally made it to the Walk of fame. (always take a map with you, because before you know it you will get lost!)
the visit itself was a bit of a disappointment as the stars were small and more then half of them we didn't even know.
When we were walking along the street people started talking to us and trying to sell us stuff.... I mean, Do we really look that much as tourists?
We kindly explain to a young guy that was trying to sell us a tour in the hills to see the celebrities, that we didn't actually care if we see them or not and when he saw that he couldn't sell something to us he cursed and showed us his tiny middle finger ( Yep... Friendly people in Hollywood) WELCOME TO LA...
Bit further down the road workers were preparing for a premiere of a movie and people were already queuing to have a good place whilst the premiere started about 8hours later!
Next to all of this we had a glance of Marylin Monroe and Elvis having an in debt conversation! Funny....

Hollywood.... That was the sign that we could see once we arrived at the end of the hall of fame street. We have to admit that we expected it to be bigger.....but we saw it!!!
After several hours of walking we decided to go back to Santa Monica Pier were we could relax on the beach.
Hunger started to strike us so we went to the Mexican restaurant that was situated at the end of the pier where we have tasted one of the best margaritas we have had in our life.... Sitting on the patio..... Sea view..... Nice Margarita and my beautiful Anne next to me...
After dinner, we strolled along the beach back to our hostel as we needed to wake up at 6am.
Plan for the next day was to go back to the Airport and pick up our rental car. We can even choose the car we want!!!
Not to forget that we drive on the right (not as in Ireland on the left) and full automatic.
You just got to love those American SUV's....
Once we have picked up the car we are heading for a 4 hours drive to Las Vegas (LAS)....
To be continued... we did 17 days in total so please come back as every day there is a new day addded.
